| Dr. Mizanur Rahman Shelley, a former teacher of Dhaka University, former civil servant, and a former Minister of the Government of Bangladesh, is the Chairman of APPL. Dr. Shelley is also Founder Chairman of the Centre for Development Research, Bangladesh (CDRB) and Editor of Socio-Economic Journal Asian Affairs, now in its 28 year of publication. He has been working as Overseas Director of American institute of Bangladesh Studies (AIBS) since 1989. He is author of many scholarly and creative books. | |

Mr. Habibur Rahman had an experience of more than 25 years in publishing, was the Founder Managing Director of APPL. He was with the Oxford University Press in its Dhaka and Karachi branches. He received training on publishing in the UK and top-lebel management training on Publishing Management in Bangkok under a UNESCO want. He was also the Managing Director of the Academic Publishers, the fore-runner of APPL. |
| He was a National Consultant to Universal Primary Education project (in National Curriculum & Textbook Board) in 1986 and also to Higher Secondary Education Project under UNDP as Textbook Publishing Specialist in 1997.

Ms. Shahina Rahman is the Managing Director of APPL since 2001. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English Literature from the University of Dhaka. She participated in the training course on Publishing and Printing held at the National Book Centre. She worked successfully as a teacher of English before taking over as MD of APPL after the sudden demise of her husband, the founder Managing Director of APL and APPL Mr. |
| Habibur Rahman. She grew a passion for publishing after the demise of her husband and under her leadership the APPL has published more than 200 quality books in English and Bangla on a variety of subjects including social science, politics, economics, history, autobiography and creative literature etc. She attended the training course on Management held at Sheraton Hotel, organized by the Rapport Bangladesh Limited. She has participated in a number of national and international book fairs and seminars both at home and abroad. She visited UK, Australia, India, Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. The Academic Press and Publishers Library (APPL) a successor of the Academic publishers which was founded in 1982 is working as a major Publishing House. It is a registered publishing house in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is one of the well-known independent publishing houses in the educational and academic fields. Hassan, internationally reputed economist and Prof. of the University of Orleans. USA. 4. Mr. Mashiur Rahman, a noted socio-economic consultant and business, he is the Managing Director of the consultancy organization Development Planners and Consultants (DPC) and Edu-Plus. 5.
